The Jazz have agreed to sign unrestricted free agent small forward Joe Johnson to a two-year contract worth million, according to Yahoo Sports and Johnson, 35, averaged 12.2 PPG, 3.6 RPG and 3.9 RPG for the Nets and the Heat last season. With the additions of Hill and now Johnson, the Jazz’s offense should be better spaced and more aesthetically pleasing overall.
While head coach Quin Snyder said earlier in the month that Johnson could be the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year this season, temper expectations.
At 36 years old he remains useful only in deeper fantasy leagues despite Snyder's good words. Kidding aside, we know Snyder loves Johnson for how he can guard so many positions while producing any kind of offense the coach desires.
Encouraging quote aside, Johnson is really only worth a look in deeper leagues.
He is out indefinitely and the team says it will provide updates when appropriate.
There is some concern that Exum could miss this season due to the injury suffered on Oct. He's had some terrible luck in his career with this injury and an ACL tear three summers ago.
The seven-time All-Star brings significant playoff experience and a reputation for big shot-making to a young Jazz team hoping to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2012.
